The long absence of creative skills and innovative ideas especially in rural communities where the real people are mostly found has hindered economic growth and development. Few individuals that own small and medium scale enterprises and local industries in the grassroots also lack the funding to sustain the running of such enterprises, a development that has disrupted businesses in communities over the years.
To provide a sustainable platform for training and retraining of smaller holder farmers, business owners and all other upcoming entrepreneurs to thrive in Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Alhaji Abdullahi Salihu Danlami, a Federal House of Representative aspirant under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the weekend trained over fifty (50) constituents in some select entrepreneurship skills with a view to empowering the trainees with the requisite skills and vocational training that will improve sustainable living income of the people.
In line with his passion for community development and nation building, Danlami as he is fondly called amongst his colleagues and supporters facilitated the provision of vocational training and support in soap making and cream production for women and girls who are business oriented and are residents in rural communities.
Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency being largely agrarian with huge untapped opportunities in the agricultural value chain is no doubt in dire need of an holistic and all encompassing approach to harness some identified opportunities in the interest of the masses who have over the years been at the receiving end of some poor policies and lack of foresight. It is against this backdrop that Alhaji Abdullahi Salihu Danlami trained rice farmers on the rice value chain and capacity building to maximize profit and sustainability.
Participants were empowered with relevant farming inputs such as agrochemicals and fertilizers with cash support to the rice farmers' category while soap making and cream production materials were donated with cash backings after the 2-Day training and capacity building programme.
